low coast = high risk.
just find a company that owns their servers , not a re-seller.
that is the only advice for good hosting.

yeah, im agree with you. UP

mypchost 5 years 2 months ago

Low cost does not always assume high risk. There are very good, what are referred to as
"budget hosting providers" out there that offer extremely deep discounts, yet offer high
profitability as well as quality equipment.

The thing you need to remember is that with ANY provider, it is important to know that
they are reliable as well as secure. Many people don't know this, but the large hosting
companies, are ALL owned by ONE major company, operating under different names. Check
yourself ;)

At least, you could get monthly traffic starting at 10 000 GB a month, 4 GB DDR3, Gbit
Network Cards.

ronanharris09 5 years 2 months ago

rewo.duoservers.com high spec, speed, and theres 3 datacenters

mypchost 5 years 2 months ago

The least expensive I can provide is starting at around $70/mo. The ones previously
mentioned are priced high and an Intel Atom CPU isn't even a server grade CPU. For $75/mo,
I can offer this:

Intel Xeon E3 1225v2 CPU's which are 4 cores/4threads, 3.2 GHz+ CPU, 32 GB RAM, 2x 2TB
SATA HDD, Software RAID on a 250 Mbps connection. There are other options available, let
me know if interested. Can have it setup in a matter of minutes ;)

ronanharris09 5 years 2 months ago

250mbps connection ? You should get better

mypchost 5 years 2 months ago

250 is fine honestly and depending upon what s/he is doing, as long as its not streaming
videos or anything like that 24/7 it will be plenty... even if it is, thats still fine but
might have a little latency. On a 250, you can easily host many many websites, I guess
what I should say is that its 250 guaranteed. Most datacenters claim 500 or even 1000 mbps
connection, but thats internal to their OWN network, NOT to the internet as a whole. Do
your homework, its important to know these things.

ronanharris09 5 years 2 months ago

have you tried bluehost or digital ocean ?

I would recommend http://www.kualo.co.uk, I have been with them for over a year now, cheap price with excellent customer support but i would also recommend you do your own research before you sign-up with a hosting provider, read independent customer reviews, check out sites like http://www.hostprospect.com, http://reviews.cnet.com/web-hosting and others

mypchost 5 years 6 months ago

The thing is, with review sites, like the one you first posted
(http://www.hostprospect.com), they aren't necessarily "unbiased" and generally is a
link-farm of affiliate links by the website designer. Even with the 2nd link
(http://reviews.cnet.com/web-hosting), you will STILL want to review other sites, such as
forum sites for "true reviews" which aren't necessarily biased or tyring to say, "Oh THIS
provider is great" only for it to be the highest paid affiliate link on the site. IMO

technut 5 years 6 months ago

4. There are over 600,000 web hosting providers out there, so how can you possibly pick
one. It’s fairly simple. Our 1st rule of thumb is to get a referral from someone you
already know and who has done most of the real hard foot work finding that right web host,
and with any luck they can also tell you just exactly how good or bad their current and
past experiences have been with theses web hosts. If you don’t know anyone who is in
that category then our 2nd rule is refer again to rule #1!

How does this sound? If you need other options, for instance SSD drives, or whatever, I'll need to know. Its not much more, up to you. Get in touch with me at skype: kacmatt70 or email me at support *at* mypchost *dot* com

OPTION #1: (Setup of $49)
**************
$425/mo (well under your budget)
RAID-1 or RAID-0 (your choice)
Unlimited Bandwidth
2x 2 TB SATA3 Hard Drive Space (Total of 2TB in RAID configuration)
6CPU Cores (running 6 threads each, total of 12CPU's) Speed: Intel Xeon E5-1650v2
64 GB DDR3 ECC RAM

OPTION #2: (Setup of $49)
**************
$390/mo (well under your budget)
RAID-1 or RAID-0 (your choice)
Unlimited Bandwidth
2x 2 TB SATA3 Hard Drive Space (Total of 2TB in RAID configuration)
8CPU Cores (running 8 threads each, total of 16CPU's) Speed: Opteron 3,1 GHz+/3,5 GHz+
64 GB DDR3 ECC RAM

Irish_digital 5 years 6 months ago

The 2nd Option sounds just fine.
That is for $390 per Month we are getting:
64 GB RAM
More than 750 GB HD
And Unlimited Bandwidth.

Right?

Also I assume this server will have LAMP stack on it?
As far as OS, we would like RH Enterprise. Is that OK?

Also we do not need Plesk, etc. we will use SSH Putty to Admin the server.

mypchost 5 years 6 months ago

Let me check - linux in most cases is open source OS, however, RH enterprise requires a
license subscription. I'm checking to see if that will be an option and will post shortly.

In regards to the setup of the machine - if managed (?), I would set this up for you, I
will just need the configuration such as what you want set for the main storage size,
swap, directory structure, etc. I believe we may be able to get you a KVM/IP which will
work for your needs.... checking that option

mypchost 5 years 6 months ago

Coming back - the server can have a LAMP setup - entirely up to you. The RHLE license is
at your own expense. I can provide you an additional cost (just add it), but this was not
mentioned previously, so I didn't include that into the costs quoted unfortunately. Still,
either way, much less than what I'm sure you'd find elsewhere. Either way, protection of
data and integrity of that data is foremost in my company's mission to our customers.
Either way, I hope this helps, not here for just $$ :)

I can definitely get you into a 100% fully dedicated server, under or very close to your budget with Linux, unlimited bandwidth. I just need to know about hardware requirements you'd need. RAID-1 or RAID-0? Amount of Ram? Amount of Hard drive space? Any special features? You can connect with me directly via skype if you want at: kacmatt70 or email me at support *at* mypchost *dot* com

Mypc, Answers:
We need 64 GB of RAM
1 750 GBHD

About special features? Do you have a Video server to recommend that is free or not too
expensive for like 100s of concurrent streams. Or put it another way, how do you suggest
is best for capturing Video stream for a given member and then streaming that Video to
100s of concurrent members?

And what is RAID good for?

mypchost 5 years 6 months ago

I'll have to do a bit of research on the video portion - as far as the RAID .... if you
are running a business type server, which I assume that you are, running a RAID-1 or
RAID-10 is preferred due to data consistency and redundancy to prevent much from failing.
If a hardware failure happens on a server that is not running a RAID configuration, thats
*not* a good idea! Reason being, if the hard drive fails, your data is simply gone. With a
RAID-1 format, your data is exactly mirrored and is

mypchost 5 years 6 months ago

generally safe because you can always place the new hard drive in, then replicate the
content to the new drive, preventing data loss. A RAID-0 is normally pointless and I'd
recommend against this as well.

My concern is that you're not really familiar with server technology, so am I to assume
you're looking for a "Managed" server option?

Irish_digital 5 years 6 months ago

About RAID, we do not need it. Since we have a Cron based Script which daily makes a back
up of all Databases and copies the backed up data to 2 other servers. So in case of a
Hardware failure at most we are going to loose less than 24 Hours of Data.

So we the people on the KNOW consider RAID a waste of Money and such backup schemes as
we have put in place much more economical and efficient.

mypchost 5 years 6 months ago

Sure, not arguing that point, but restoring data, especially over a network, if on
different networks, can result in downtime, not just a loss of data, but also the downtime
overall of the server. Its included by default in the configurations that I posted. To be
EXTREMELY efficient, if I were you, I'd consider looking at SSD drives (solid state
drives) because I am assuming here, but going based on the needs of the server, a sata3 is
going to have a lot of IO and could cause a higher server

mypchost 5 years 6 months ago

load whereas an SSD drive is faster and no moving parts so the IO speeds will be much
faster and more efficient. I'm sorry if I offended you, there was no intent there.... just
a friendly bit of suggestion. So, hope you didn't take it like that :) I like to make any
potential customers, especially if running their own server, the safest as possible is all
I was attempting to do.

Do you have an estimate amount of traffic this site will have? What will you be hosting. Many hosting providers don't allow IRC or P2P. And what about location, does it matter if its in America, Europe or Asia. contact us if you would like a quote at sales(a)soxdomains.com.

SoxDomains, we will be hosting an Adult Video Chat.
So we would like to have unlimited bandwidth deal.
And our budget is up to $500 per Month.
And yes, our preference is for the Hosting to be in North America or Europe.

SoxDomains 5 years 6 months ago

I don't see any problems on your content but, your budget is very low for unlimited
bandwidth. I can set you up at $950 for a linux dedicated server with 8GB RAM, 2x1TB Space
(no RAID) and unlimited bandwidth at 1Gbit port . I would also recommend checking
softlayer but, UB can range from $1k to $2k.

unlimited packets, dedicated İp adress or dedicatedClass hosting server services at the
lowest prices. http://www.sitenasilkurulur.net/en/ with contributions...

ronanharris09 5 years 2 months ago

we could make it just for 33x.00 per month with better spec and 3 datacenter plus 2.5 gbps
connection
