Should I take Fish Oil for better Health? Or just eat more Fish?
There are lots of people now a days saying that taking Fish Oil is good for your health. My questions are: is this true? Or is it just better to eat Fish?
If it is better to eat Fish, then which Fishes are best to eat for best Health?
If Fish oil is better, which one should one buy? Since there so many on the store shelf counter.
Fish Oil is very healthy it also helps you in heart disease. It also helps in lower blood pressure. I am gyming person so I usually take omega fish oils and seriously telling I found awesome results after having this. I will suggest you also go with this fish oil if you want awesome results like me.
Just eat healthy, fresh fish 3 to 4 times/ Wk. If your consuming fish its always good. Crabs, shark fish , etc etc,, all wish are healthy for our body. avoid fish oil tab if you are eating healthy non-veg food.
There are some fish which are not good for health, for women. all fish can be cooked and consume. proper category of sea food must be done before eating. but yes i am agree with you above answer i.e "avoid fish oil tab if you'r eating healthy non-veg"
If your a younger person and eat a healthy diet then just eating fish like salmon and steelhead are great for your body. Try to eat 1 or 2 times a week. As you get older the body id not processing nutrients as well and supplementing with oils is good for the body and blood flow. If there is heart issues in the family perhaps some oil would be helpful as well. Your body can't make omega-3 fatty acids. So you need to get them from your diet. The ideal sources are from foods like: Fatty fish such as salmon, mackerel, herring, sardines, and tuna.
Even though food should be your main source of omega-3 fatty acids, most Americans don't get enough of this nutrient from diet alone.
If that's the case with you, your first step should be to eat more fish and other omega-3 foods. Besides providing omega-3s, these foods have other health benefits, including:
But if you can't or don't want to change your diet, then supplements you can buy without a prescription.
Fish is beneficial for you. It is a fabulous wellspring of protein, a few vitamins and minerals, is low altogether and immersed fats, in any case, above all, it is rich in omega-3 unsaturated fats. The two "malady battling" fixings found in fish oil are called docosahexaenoic corrosive - DHA - and eicosapentaenoic corrosive - EPA. Individuals who expend fish rich weight control plans encounter less coronary illness. Fish oil might battle colon and bosom malignancies, and decrease lung aggravation. Numerous wellbeing specialists concur that going for 1,000 milligrams day by day of a mix of EPA and DHA omega-3s - from fish oil containers - is protected and compelling for the vast majority.
Not everyone likes fish and some are even allergic to it. Then, we have vegans and vegetarians. DHA and EPA, two omega 3 fatty acids, can also be extracted from algae and encapsulated or one could eat flaxseed which contains the precursor to omega 3s or ALA. Recent studies have suggested that flaxseed may have a protective effect against breast cancer, prostate cancer, and colon cancer. At least two of the components in flaxseed seem to contribute, says Kelley C. Fitzpatrick, director of health
If you can find a source for your fish where you know you are not getting mercury contamination, eating the fish is the way to go If you cannot eat fish or seafood, taking an omega 3 supplement might be wise. You can try to boost ALA containing foods but that requires conversion and not all are good at converting ALA to omega 3.
Yes, but of course all Fish are not the same. Such bottom feeders as Flounder I think have more mercury in them than Ocean going fast fish such as Grouper. So the trick is finding the good Fish. But then with fish oil tabelts it is all crap shoot.
I would say if you don't like to eat fish then take fish oil gel tabs. However if you eat fish ~3 times a week, you probably don't need to take the tabs. (salmon, lake trout, or herring) see: http://www.prevention.com/food/healthy-eating-tips/fish-or-fish-oil
I can, I love fish and seafood. It is easy to have 3 meals a week that are fish. Tuna salad for lunch one day, a salmon steak for dinner one night and fry up some catfish or trout in coconut oil for dinner on Friday. 3 meals out of 21 is not a lot (if you average 3 meals a day).
Better to eating balanced meals contains fish, meat, Vegetables and nuts
Make some sports exercises at least try to walk 3 time weekly
Which will give you healthy future.
Keep calm and simple, Good luck :)
It depends because many of our fish today are polluted with toxins and mercury other chemicals that pollute our oceans & lakes not to mention the farm raised fish that are genetically modified. The other thing is that store bought fish oil supplements are denatured also. This happens through the processing of the supplements which kills of the important vitamins, minerals, nutrients & enzymes which are essential for the bodies enzymatic function without these functions the cells cannot reproduce healthy cells and controls our health or therefor lack of health our blood & tissue possess. Omega 3's can be found in Organic flax seeds, hemp seeds, canola, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, soybeans and its products such as tofu and tempeh. Dark green veggies such as kale, collards, chard, parsley, seaweed, and cereal grasses (wheat & barley grasses) are also good sources because all green (chlorophyll-rich) foods contain Omega-3 fats in their chloroplasts.
You don't drink fish oil. The supplement comes in capsules, Go to a good health food store for the best quality or to a retailer like walmart, CVS ETC. for a acceptable but not great brands.
If you are eating fish , you want to eat deep water fish preferably because of the mercury exposure the others have. Pacific salmon was good until Fukishima catastrophy. Personally I suggest the supplements at this time.
Be leary of any hype about supplements with "special powers". Like any other product there are hucksters and there are average quality and very good quality. Do your research. You want to get companies that have quality manufacturing process for purity and bioavailability. The less "fillers" the better.
The purpose of eating fish or taking fish oil is to supply your body with the proper nutrients, specifically Omega fatty acids. The standard American diet is very rich in Omega 6 however it is very deficient in Omega 3 an even 9.
Many scientists believe that a major reason for the high incidence of heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, premature aging, and some forms of cancer is the profound imbalance between our intake of omega-6 and omega 3. The ratio of omega 6 to omega 3 should be 1 to 1 but today's diet is more like 20 to 1. That spells trouble.
So to answer your question , yes , you should be getting more Omega 3 probably. The best source is naturally from walnuts and other nuts, flaxseed, grass fed beef. Supplementing with fish oil is ver beneficial. If not treating a health condition , 1000mg per day of a quality brand is a safe and effective dosage. Ideally , you can get a blend of KRILL OIL/FISH OIL which increases the amount of antioxidants.
Benefits are GRE
contact my primary physician! About whether I should drink more Fish oil or just eat more Fish! I think he will laugh at me as this is all about Nature based Health Care rather than Medicine based Health Care which is what a primary physician would know about.
Eating more fish is a good option but then you also have be careful as to what kind of fish you are eating and that you do not increase your mercury intake by eating fish high in mercury. My personal favorite is doTERRA XE Omega which you can get from any doTERRA Wellness advocate. This has fish oil and micro filtered marine lipids in addition to all the other essential oils you need in your body. www.mydoterra.com/janinaward
