How To Spot A Bad Or Abusive Affiliate Program?

You find an established company with valuable products or services like Amazon or Ebay, that you can sell as an affiliate online and you apply with eager enthusiasm until you read the fine print and the legal yadda yadda yadda. Some affiliates are more corporate then the 9 to 5 corporations you were trying to get away from.

So how do you Spot Bad Or Abusive Affiliate Programs from the Good ones?

I look for opportunity and the ability to get ahead in the program. There also has to be a responsive means to get information and answer questions. The activity should be verifiable and forthcoming. Also good reviews from other affiliates is an important way to know how good an affiliate program is.

These are good points.
OTN, have you tried Share a Sale? I have heard good and real bad stuff about them.

marcel 3 years 7 months ago

The main things I look for are
#1 Company Management
Experience with Integrity
#2 Timing in the Company and Timing in the Industry
#3 Remarkable Product
#4 Compenation Plans Compensation plans.
You have got to have a compensation plan that pays the part timer person
#5 Proven duplicatable system

martstervt 3 years 7 months ago

I have not tried Share a sale, it sounds like a mixed bag.

World_Traveler 3 years 6 months ago

So which Affiliate Program do you suggest as best to Join?

martstervt 3 years 6 months ago

I am with Amazon, Jam Play, an online guitar lesson site, And a small business loan
company. I am signed up with Commission Junction. It gives you the ability to sign
affiliate agreements with many companies and you can explore the ones that you want to
aply to. The also have a pay peer call section. I have yet to be accepted by any and have
only applied to 4. Pay per call pay outs are good depending on the company.

World_Traveler 3 years 6 months ago

How does Commission Junction exactly work?
And what has your experience been with them?
ThanX

martstervt 3 years 6 months ago

Commission Junction, Also known as CJ Convergent over- sees many companies affiliate
programs. You can find Commission Junction by Google search. You apply to them and when
accepted you have access to many companies and pal per call affiliate agreements. You then
fill out a profile and can apply to the other companies. I have 2 websites but I think
some are open to different avenues of advertising. All the companies are different in what
they look for. You can check it out on google. 5 stars!

While I will agree that there are many good affiliate programs which are being advertised, and certainly some bad ones, I really believe the best affiliate program is one which pays to infinity, and also offers a monthly income, or the optional weekly residual income for teaching the masses how to save their money as opposed to be offering a product/s or service/s where people must spend their hard earned declining money to acquire the product/s or service/s..

Well, i think the first thing i look for is the affiliate company reviews on the internet, where you can find a lot of good and bad reviews about the affiliate company. But the most important thing is the proof of payment :)

You still have not told us what you mean by:
"yadda yadda yadda" you were asking (complaining) about?"
And please do not tell us to Google this, People are here to get away from Google Monopoly over our Minds & Eyes. People are here because this is a search engine & social media powered by "We the People" and not Big Wall Street powers that Google is all about. That does not mean we do not use Google, but much rather to hear it from the real People which is what this Site is about.

That's a very good point marcel, thank you for that comment.

carney 3 years 9 months ago

Oh wait, if you search for "Google is a SCAM company" on Google, you wont actually find
such listings, but if you do same search on other companies, you will. But there are
plenty of URLs about Google being a SCAM company. After all Google is a Wall Street based
company, which Wall Street is behind USA not having the most basic of Social Services
which is Government run Universal Socialized Healthcare (NHS), plus many other ills.

badboy55 3 years 9 months ago

That's not true, there are many reviews on Google. Man . This is a tough crowd.

carney 3 years 9 months ago

What do you mean " there are many reviews on Google"?
What I said is that Google is quick to list "X is a SCAM company" under search for X,
from one customer having complained about X 5 years ago. For example.
But if you search for "Google" or even "Google is a SCAM company", Google Doctors this
search result and you will find no such listings under search for "Google" stating
(complaining) that Google is a SCAM company. Which simply means Google can Doctors the
search results and does so.

marcel 3 years 9 months ago

I just asked on google search engine Is Google a scam company And here is what I got
http://google.pissedconsumer.com/google-is-a-scam-don-t-use-them-as-a-search-engine-2012
1103356466.html

carney 3 years 9 months ago

But that is a search for "is Google a SCAM company" but if you just search for "Google"
you won't in the 1st page or even 10th page a link about Google being SCAM company,
however when for example you search for "Anoox", which anoox is the best alt search engine
to Google, you find a listing On 1st page of result about Anoox being a SCAM company. That
is just one example of extent to which Goo manipulates the search result to suit its
agenda or agenda of Wall Street money behind Goo.

World_Traveler 3 years 9 months ago

carney, that is very interesting info.
Thanks for sharing it.
After all, as we all know Anoox is the exact opposite of SCAM Company and in fact it is
a great SCAM buster, via all the ways, such as this Anoox Answers, that it allows us to
share information and get the Truth out. So it is indeed amazing and telling that Google
would list a page from 2011 about 1 Anoox client complaining about Anoox Advertising under
search for Anoox.
Really telling!

terrimar46 3 years 9 months ago

I am confused. When I hear about SCAM it means fraud, fake and deceptive, so when I run
across websites like those money guru sites promising you can make $3,000 in two hours and
$10,000 in one week with few simple clicks of the mouse and unbelievable testimonies
"Okay, what bank do I have to rob from?" I have to wonder. So, what does Google have to
do with SCAM. Since, they recently became police dog of the internet.

World_Traveler 3 years 8 months ago

The reference to Google being part of the SCAM, at times, is for example as per them
listing under search for "Anoox", a listing about"Anoox being a SCAM company...", when we
all know that Anoox is THE GOOD Guy, that in fact Anoox is the SCAM expose (buster), since
it is a search engine and news magazine controlled by US. And that Google has maliciously
planted that negative listing about Anoox under Google, because Anoox delivers to US
Advertising that costs 50% less than Ooogle.

terrimar46 3 years 8 months ago

This references from a blog stating Anoox is a SCAM, due to person could not get in touch
of Anoox customer service about not receiving traffic on their website after buying PPC
advertising from Anoox. Google is going to published anything except "how to take
someone's life" The fact is, there is not really, really a guaranteed that you will get
traffic coming to your site even if you pay for it. Funny thing about it person probably
more traffic coming to their blog instead of their site. LOL

Do your research and when you think they are good, check any forums on Google. There are no guarantees but the more you check into it the better chance you won't get burned

Are you saying that you were Rejected by Amazon or Ebay, after applying to become their Affiliate?
That will happen if you have a Web Site that is poorly developed, specially if it is a free hosted (so called) site on blogpost, Wix, etc.. Since these companies konw from experience that if someone is so cheap to have a badly developed Site or one hosted for free on blogpost, Wix, etc. that they cannot possibly sell their products and in fact most often than not will lead to someone who will SPAM their Affiliate links to get a sale which is what they dont need.

Listen whoever you are I am an affiliate for Ebay and Amazon so knockoff the spam theory.
You assume the affiliate to be the bad guy, typical....

skinzoomer 3 years 9 months ago

Well it is your question that implied otherwise.
To be exact your question states:
"you apply with eager enthusiasm until you read the fine print and the legal yadda yadda
yadda"

So what is the "yadda yadda yadda" you were asking (complaining) about?

Poor spelling, bad English, No details and phony actors bragging about their riches and telling you that they will give you the internet lifestyle, too.

Yes, very True. It is amazing how many people submit an application to be an Affiliate and
put no real effort in writing why they want to be Affiliate of a Site and as you stated
also: "Poor spelling, bad English, No details and phony actors bragging ..." etc.

badboy55 3 years 9 months ago

Another wrong assumption skinzoomer, the reason forums like this are not my cup of tea.
You don't know what you are talking about at all.

badboy55 3 years 9 months ago

There are bad affiliate programs. Your lucky if you never heard of one.
